Artist Bio
Matthew Chan is a Melbourne-based graphic designer and illustrator whose practice centres on storytelling through design and illustration. Originally from Hong Kong, he moved to Australia in 2014 in search of a different pace of life and new creative possibilities.

His work spans brand building, illustration, and community-focused projects. Matthew has been selected for programs and exhibitions including Open House Melbourne’s 10th anniversary program, State Library Victoria’s “World of the Book” illustration project, Metro Tunnel Creative Program, and Midsumma Festival’s “Memory Lane” exhibition. In 2022, he was also commissioned as the pride guernsey artist for the Richmond Tigers AFLW Pride Match.

Matthew’s ongoing series centred on “Body” and “Face” explores the emotional and physical experiences of the queer community, focusing on connection, vulnerability, and personal struggles.
