Nightingale Gallery is a contemporary fine art gallery situated on High Street, Armadale, one of Melbourne’s most distinguished cultural and lifestyle precincts. Known for its refined boutique shopping, restaurants and heritage streetscape just 7 km from the CBD, Armadale offers access to an established collector base and an affluent, internationally connected community.

Established in 2025, the gallery presents exhibitions by emerging and established artists from Australia and around the world. Housed in a heritage-listed space with polished concrete floors and lofty ceilings, Nightingale Gallery provides a distinctive architectural setting for ambitious contemporary practice.

Applications from established and emerging artists working in all mediums are welcome to apply. Solo and group exhibitions will be considered.

Core Program - Represented Artists

Nightingale Gallery is accepting proposals to be part of our Core Artist stable in 2027.

Core artists receive dedicated solo exhibitions in our main gallery space alongside comprehensive strategic support across sales, marketing, and logistics.

THE PROJECT ROOM

Nightingale Gallery invites proposals for the Project Room — a curated exhibition space dedicated to emerging and experimental contemporary practice.

The Project Room is an extension of our core program, designed to foster distinctive voices, ambitious ideas, and artists at pivotal stages in their development.

Exhibitions are selected through proposal and curatorial review.

The Nightingale Project Room operates alongside our Main Gallery program and offers:

  • A generous 6.2m x 9.6m dedicated exhibition space
  • Short-term curated exhibitions
  • Opportunities for both early-career and established artists
  • Experimental, concept-driven presentations

Artists selected for the Project Room are supported by the Nightingale team from concept development through to collector engagement.

INCLUSIONS

Each Project Room exhibition includes:

  • Pre-exhibition curatorial consultation and ongoing advisory support
  • Exhibition installation and deinstallation by the Nightingale team
  • Opening event with staffed paid bar service
  • Custom-designed digital exhibition invitations for artist and gallery distribution
  • Vinyl-cut exhibition wall text and signage
  • Dedicated online exhibition listing and individual artwork pages
  • Promotion via Nightingale Gallery’s mailing list, website and social channels
  • Exhibition photography
  • Gallery lighting
  • End-to-end sales management, including invoicing, payment processing, and artwork coordination
  • Permanent exhibition documentation and archival listing on the Nightingale website
  • A commissioned curatorial essay
  • Private collector viewings by appointment

Rates

Fortnight Exhibition (2 Weeks)

$2800 + GST

A 10% commission applies to all artworks sold during the exhibition period.
