Ben Ryan

Ben Ryan is an Australian artist working primarily in oils. He is classically trained, having studied with artists in both Australia and Italy. Ben is a portrait artist, and has completed a range of commissions for both private and institutional clients. He is also an avid painter of all sorts of oddities - mostly elaborate genre paintings with a surreal bent, painted from life from stage setups he builds in the dark corners of his studio. Ben is also a teacher of classical painting and drawing at the Hamley Studio of Fine Art, which he co-founded, and the Royal Art Society of NSW.
